Megan Baccitich
Winemaker
Growing up in Sonoma County, Megan knew at an early age that she wanted to explore a career in winemaking.
A combination of vineyard surroundings, family friends working in the industry and food and restaurant culture that sparked her interests in wine.
A lover of nature and science, Megan earned a Bachelor’s of Science, Enology degree from Fresno State University. She worked her first two vintages in Dry Creek Valley before accepting an Assistant Winemaker position in Russian River Valley.
Since joining the Paul Hobbs team in 2006, Megan has enjoyed working with Paul to ensure a seamless metamorphosis from vineyard to bottle. Megan values the Paul Hobbs tradition of crafting wines to showcase the vineyard site and has learned the importance of a holistic approach to winemaking. “The level of expectation is extremely high but the goal is crystal clear: Wine Quality. The most important attribute to a great wine is the texture on the palette. I also try to accentuate minerality on the finish.”
Megan lives on an 80-acre vineyard estate in the Russian River Valley with her partner Ben, their dog, Rio, and three “barn” cats.
