Fraenkle Cheshier Vineyard
Russian River Valley

Located in an area known as the Sebastopol Hills just west of the town of Sebastopol, the Fraenkle Cheshier Vineyard takes full advantage of its choice site.

Clones 667, 777

Planted 2001

Owner/Manager Oliver Fraenkle

Site 0-3% slope, full exposure

Soil Goldridge fine sandy loam, Pajaro fine sandy loam

Climate Situated in a small pocket created by gently rolling hills, the vineyard remains protected from stiff ocean winds while retaining precious humidity vital to the thin skinned, slowly maturing pinot noir berries. By day, the site is pleasantly warmed by a benevolent sun. However, it’s the bracingly cold nights that work the real magic, preserving the acidity which simply electrifies the palate.
