Ross Station Estate
Russian River Valley

In the late 1800’s this homestead was the location of a bustling stagecoach stop. Today, the restored circa 1889 Victorian home and large trees sit amidst seven rolling acres of chardonnay vines.

Clones Calera Chardonnay, Wente, Mt. Eden

Planted 2008

Owner/Manager Paul Hobbs Winery

Site 7.5 hillside acres with southern exposure

Soil Sandy-loam, gold ridge soil is the hallmark soil series in this area of Russian River Valley.

Climate The Russian River Valley climate is defined by its proximity to the ocean, and is bordered by the Russian River and the Mayacamas mountains. Coastal breezes bring cooling fog through the Petaluma wind gap in the morning and evening, balancing the afternoon heat enjoyed in this appellation. This temperature differential creates excellent conditions to grow chardonnay and pinot noir.
