Cabernet Sauvignon

Liparita Vineyard
Howell Mountain

Dark garnet color, ripe blackberry, licorice, black olive, forest floor and dark semi-sweet chocolate aromas; velvety full mouth-feel, brambly fruit notes, currant liqueur; concentrated and structured, medium-fine grain tannins with a very long finish; this is classic mountain Cabernet. Special note: the vineyard was sold before the 1996 harvest making this our last vintage from this great vineyard. Alcohol 13.6%.

Harvest Date October 30

Growing Season Cool wet spring conditions during flowering resulted in poor fruit set for the vineyard and delayed harvest. Mostly mild weather throughout the summer allowed for even development of the grapes but fall conditions were again variable.
