Ellen Lane Estate
Russian River Valley

In 2007 and 2008 we carefully replanted the vineyard previously known as Walker Station and renamed our hillside gem Ellen Lane Estate. Our inaugural vintage of Ellen Lane Estate chardonnay is a glistening light straw in color and displays lively aromas of lychee and white peach. On the palate, the expansive layers of the wine unfold to reveal limestone, minerality, lemon rind and mandarin oil.

“Liquid butterscotch, rich and full-blown, this is an opulent style to be sure, yet very well-done. Chill this, then enjoy the creamy mix of baked apple flavors that unfold. Drink now through 2017. 112 cases made.”

“Impresses for its length and underlying minerality. Lemon, white flowers, crushed rocks and pears are all woven together in this expressive, nuanced Chardonnay. This is an impressive first effort from young vines planted on the site formerly known as Walker Station. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.”

Harvest Date October 8

Growing Season 2010 began with a wet winter and spring across Sonoma County. Summer was cool, though as harvest approached temperatures rose. Our pinot noir and chardonnay ripened fully and evenly, allowing sugars and acid to develop in balance. The wines from 2010 are bright, expressive and elegant.
