Pinot Noir

Hyde Vineyard
Carneros, Napa Valley

Dense black plum in color, this pure yet voluptuous pinot noir sets the stage with a nose of lavender, violets and blueberries. Earthy and brooding, the wine opens slowly with nuances of black tea, and red and black cherry. The supple, silky tannins are complemented by balanced acidity.

“This tight, expansive Pinot shows a rich mix of vivid blackberry and wild berry notes, with touches of spicy clove. This has excellent structure and ripe, gripping tannins that keep the flavors fresh and lively. Drink now through 2020. ”

“Vivid ruby.  Heady aromas of red and dark berry preserves, potpourri and sandalwood, with a bright mineral topnote and slow-mounting smokiness.  Sappy, penetrating black raspberry and candied cherry flavors stain the palate, showing a silky, seamless texture.  Spice and floral pastille notes carry through a very long, sweet, gently tannic finish. ”

Harvest Date September 26

Growing Season 2010 began with a wet winter and spring across Sonoma County. Summer was cool, though as harvest approached temperatures rose. Our pinot noir and chardonnay ripened fully and evenly, allowing sugars and acid to develop in balance. The wines from 2010 are bright, expressive and elegant.
