Pinot Noir

Cuvée Agustina
Katherine Lindsay Estate
Russian River Valley

Named for Paul’s daughter, Cuvée Agustina yields an unparalleled expression from block A9 in the southeast corner of our Katherine Lindsay Estate and is produced only in vintages that warrant the special designation. The blend is crafted to showcase texture, concentration and structure. Deep ruby red in color, the opulent wine offers intense depth of flavor on the palate, opening with layers of pure red fruits, rose petal and milk cocoa, along with nuances of fresh earth. Lush, silky tannins complement a long finish, which is highlighted with floral notes and subtle minerality.

93 points Wine Advocate

“Should be the better wine as Paul Hobbs no doubt created it from the best barrels from the Katherine Lindsay vineyard. It shows meaty, charcuterie, bouquet garni notes intermixed with darker fruits, as well as more wood and a more structured feel.”
Robert Parker Jr.

92 Points International Wine Cellar

“Bright ruby-red. A perfumed, vibrant nose displays cherry pit, blackberry, espresso, rose and allspice. Lively and focused, with a firm acid spine and pronounced minerality brightening the dark berry and floral flavors. Dense but energetic, with very good finishing clarity, cling and subtle, fine-grained tannins. ”

Harvest Date October 2

Growing Season 2011 began with a rainy winter and spring across Sonoma and Napa Counties. Summer was cooler than average but as harvest approached temperatures rose. Our pinot noir ripened fully and evenly, allowing sugars and acid to develop in balance. The wines from 2011 are bright, expressive and faceted.
