Cabernet Sauvignon

Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vnyd
St. Helena, Napa Valley

Intense black garnet in color, this wine entices with complex aromas of ripe berries, green olives, graphite, and cracked black pepper. The dense palate offers lavish flavors of black currants, Herbs De Provence, cigar box and baker's cocoa. Chewy tannins lead to a captivating finish with hints of iodine and spice. We recommend decanting this wine in its youth.

95 Points Wine Advocate

“Of the three Beckstoffer Vineyards, it’s pretty much a joyride as to which one readers may prefer. The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard of St. Helena is a knockout: a broad, opulent, round Cabernet fruitbomb with lots of cassis, incense, and blackberry. The wine is full-bodied, generously endowed with terrific purity, texture and length. This is a star and, believe it or not, it’s come in well under 15% natural alcohol. This beauty can be drunk now or cellared for 15 or more years.”
Robert Parker Jr.

94+ Points Vinous

“One of the highlights in this range, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is fabulous. An exotic melange of blue/black fruit, graphite, smoke, new leather and cloves meld together in a complex, structured Cabernet endowed with superb pedigree, class and site-specific character. This pebbly site in St. Helena often confers verticality and structure. Those are exactly the qualities that come through most decisively, while the radiance of the vintage lies a bit in the background, at least today.”

Harvest Date October 20th

Growing Season The 2012 growing season has been described by many as “textbook perfect”. Temperate summer days moderated plant growth, contributing to smaller cluster and berry size during lag phase, leading to increased concentration of flavors. An idyllic Indian summer finished the maturation process, producing fruit with exceptional character and intensity.
