Pinot Noir

Cuvée Agustina
Katherine Lindsay Estate
Russian River Valley

Named for Paul’s eldest daughter and produced only in the best vintages, Cuvée Agustina represents an unparalleled expression from block A9 in the southeast corner of our Katherine Lindsay Estate vineyard. This wine is distinguished by the selection of barrels and blended to showcase texture, concentration and structure. Deep garnet in color, this assertive and refined wine shows exotic aromas of red cherry, boysenberry, plum, rose petal, bergamot, clove, and sandalwood. The mouth feel is pure and vibrant with notes of earl gray tea and juicy black raspberries guiding towards a long and precise finish.

93 Points Vinous

“Dark ruby. Black raspberry and potpourri aromas are sharpened by notes of white pepper and smoky minerals. Taut and sharply focused on entry, then fleshier and broader in the mid-palate, offering cherry-vanilla and blackberry flavors sharpened by juicy acidity. The floral quality comes back emphatically on the strikingly long finish, which features dusty tannins and a bitter cherry quality.”

96 Points Wine Advocate

“A profound example of California Pinot Noir is the spectacular 2012 Pinot Noir Agustina Katherine Lindsay Estate. Made totally from the Calera clone, it offers fabulous mulberry, black raspberry and blueberry fruit intermixed with forest floor and mossy underbrush characteristics, and a deep, earthy mouthfeel with full-bodied meatiness and succulence. Enjoy this sensational Pinot Noir over the next decade or more. Sadly, there are only 246 cases.”

Harvest Date October 4

Growing Season The 2012 growing season has been described by many as “textbook perfect”. Temperate summer days moderated plant growth, contributing to smaller cluster and berry size during lag phase, leading to increased concentration of flavors. An idyllic Indian summer finished the maturation process, producing fruit with exceptional character and intensity.
