Pinot Noir

Hyde Vineyard
Carneros, Napa Valley

Brilliant ruby in color, this wine has intriguing aromas of black raspberry, damp forest floor, brown sugar, and cocoa powder. The texture on the palate is rich, silky and pure, with kirsch, black tea and vanilla bean leading to a polished finish with nice acidity and a touch of earthy minerality.

93 Points Vinous

“Another wine from one the best sites in this portfolio, the 2012 Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard is wonderfully complex in the glass. Dark red cherry, smoke, tobacco, incense and game all rush from the glass. There is an intensity and energy in the 2012 that is impossible to miss. The 2012 stands out for its complexity and real sense of character. Rose petal, hard candy, menthol and wild flowers linger on the close.”

“Another seductive Pinot displaying lavish amounts of black cherries, pomegranate and plums, good acidity, a touch of forest floor, medium body and a long finish. Drink it over the next half dozen years. ”

Growing Season 2012 has been described by many as “textbook perfect,” with both yields and quality being well above average. The growing season was long and mild, leading to even ripening, and harvest was completed before the first storm of the season arrived in late October. The wines from 2012 are expressive, balanced and delicious!
