Pinot Noir

Cuvée Agustina
Katherine Lindsay Estate
Russian River Valley

Named for Paul’s eldest daughter and produced only in top vintages, Cuvée Agustina represents an unparalleled expression from block A9 in the southeast corner of our Katherine Lindsay Estate Vineyard. The very best barrels are blended to showcase texture, concentration and structure. This deep crimson wine leaps from the glass with expressive aromatics of boysenberry, violets, gingerbread and earth. The youthful acidity and soft tannins provide a luxurious mouthfeel that leads to a lingering finish of peat moss and dried lavender.

(91-93) Points Wine Advocate

“My tasting notes on these same Pinot Noir cuvées in 2013 revealed slightly smaller production numbers, and wines with more crisp acids, perhaps not the flesh and fat of the 2012s, but stylistically, they are more elegant and feminine whereas the 2012s are more meaty, concentrated and powerful. All the 2013 Pinot Noirs appear to be very good, with my favorites being the Agustina Katherine Lindsay Estate and the Ulises Valdez Vineyard. ”

(91-94) Points Vinous

“The 2013 Pinot Noir Cuvée Agustina Katherine Lindsay Estate is supple, layered and expressive in the glass, but the flavors are a bit brighter and more delineated than normal. Blood orange, mint, pine and crushed rocks are all laced together in an unusually precise, chiseled Cuvée Agustina.”

Harvest Date September 20th

Growing Season 2013 was a phenomenal growing season in just about every way. A warm, dry spring led to early bud break, limited canopy vigor and berry size, and created ideal conditions through bloom and fruit set. An abundance of long sunny days, with only one heat spike in early July, resulted in even ripening and an early harvest with exceptional flavor development. The 2013 vintage offers very high quality wines that are striking in their balance and expression.
