Chardonnay

Ellen Lane Estate
Russian River Valley

This small hill-side estate is the coolest vineyard in our portfolio. Brilliant pale straw in color, this wine has savory, herbaceous aromas that lead to a taut palate of nectarine and warm biscotti balanced with hints of toasted oak. A long drawn-out finish highlights the tension between bright acidity, minerality and ripe stone fruit flavors.

(95-97) Points Wine Advocate

“The 2014 Chardonnay Ellen Lane Estate exhibits more gravelly, wet pebble notes and loads of uplifted aromatics, including peach, pineapple, orange rind and lemon blossom. It is again a complex style of Chardonnay made from a cold micro climate.”
Robert Parker Jr.

Harvest Date September 13

Growing Season 2014 was the third straight outstanding growing season in a row, following the excellent 2012 and 2013 vintages. Dry winter and spring conditions limited canopy vigor, and a warm growing season with a lack of extreme heat spikes resulted in prolonged, even ripening through harvest. The resulting wines possess great site specificity, depth and quality.
