The Wine Advocate
Robert Parker
Vol. 142
8/31/2002
Score: 90 (100 possible)

Floral, honeysuckle, and tropical fruit characteristics along with good underlying acidity are found in this pure, steely elegant effort. Enjoy this tropical fruit-dominated 2000 during its first 2-3 years of life.

Good intensity and depth, with rich nutmeg, fig, apricot, and a buttery pineapple aftertaste, with lingering flavors. Drink now through 2005. 1,757 cases made.

Deliciously rich and fruity, with layers of pear, fig, apricot and honeysuckle, turning smooth and creamy, with a long, intricate aftertaste enlivened by vibrant acidity that keeps pumping out the flavors.

California Grapevine
Vol. 28
6/2002
Score: 87 (100 possible)

Medium-light golden yellow; attractive, forward, buttery, ripe tropical fruit aroma with a hint of butterscotch; full body; big, plush, toasty, tropical, ripe pear and pineapple flavors; slightly harsh and hard on the finish; lingering aftertaste. Needs another year of bottle aging to help resolve the fruit and oak. Highly recommended.
