A 330-case cuvee of nearly 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Boasting a dense ruby/purple color along with notes of graphite, crushed rocks, white flowers, and black currants, its plush, Pomerol-like style reveals low acidity as well as heady, concentrated, powerful flavors that linger on the palate. There are no hard deges to this 2004, which offers immediate gratification, but promises to age for 12-15 or more years.

Ruby-red. Strong floral notes accent spicy blackberry and boysenberry on the nose, with an exotic note of cigar box. Restrained dark berry flavors are framed by soft, fine-grained tannins and joined by gentle spice and floral pastille tones that extend through the finish. Impressive for its balance and elegance; I suspect this will repay at least a decade of cellaring.

Subtle aromas of ripe currant, black cherry and plum are rich and riveting on the palate, coating the mouth with tiers of flavor. Sleek and polished, with hints of anise and mocha, this finishes with a long, focused, lingering aftertaste. Best from 2009 through 2018.
