Amazingly elegant, and flavorful, with a complex core of ripe pear, apple, spice and melon flavors that gently and deliciously unfold. Concentrated too, the long, lingering finish keeps pumping out flavors. A very impressive wine in only its fourth vintage.

Rich and ripe, but quiet subtle and reserved on the nose now, with hints of citrus, pear and apple. Quiet forward on the palate, with lots of fruit and lime flavors, but lacks the sort of flawless texture I expect from a top '95 White Burgundy. Turns slightly tough on the oaky, smoky finish. Still, an outstanding My guess is California. Better after 2000?--Chardonnay Challenge

Zesty, with a spicy, spritzy edge to the elegant, complex range of spice, pear and apple flavors and light oak notes. Remains complex and concentrated, if a shade lighter and more elegant than most.--Chardonnay Challenge
