Medium golden yellow; attractive, forward, toasty, buttery, complex ripe Chardonnay fruit aroma with overtones of hazelnut, butterscotch, and orange rind; full body; big, rich, fat, high-extract, buttery, nutty, viscous, mouth filling, ripe pear and butterscotch flavors with overtones of toasty charred oak; slightly harsh on the finish; lingering aftertaste. Deserves another year or two of bottle aging to mature. Very highly recommended.

Exhibits copious quantities of tropical fruit, honeyed lemons, citrus, and spicy oak in the background. Drink this bold, full-flavored Chardonnay during it's first several years of life.

Score: 88 (100 possible)
Smoky, toasty oak aromas turn into butterscotch and fig on the palate; offers complex flavors and a good length (though not on the scale of Kunde Vineyard '00 bottling). Turns elegant and delicate on the finish. Drink now through 2004
