Nestled in the gentle contours of the Russian River Valley, the highly esteemed Walker Station Vineyard was planted in 1972. Owned by Harry Walker II who named it after its family, it is now the property of the Riel family, Michael being the GM of Paul Hobbs Wines. Since 1997, these old vines have been a great source of inspiration for Paul and produce a magnificent Chardonnay.

Climate
The Russian River Valley climate is defined by its proximity to the ocean, and is bordered by the Russian River and the Mayacamas mountains. Coastal breezes bring cooling fog through the Petaluma wind gap in the morning and evening, balancing the afternoon heat enjoyed in this appellation. This temperature differential creates excellent conditions to grow chardonnay and pinot noir.
