Medium-bodied, exhibits a deep ruby/purple color as well as a sweet nose of black fruits, fudge, and licorice. Shorter, softer, and more accessible than the '99, it will drink well for 7-8 years.

Intense, with ripe, raw, stalk, mint, raw meat and herbaceous flavors that flex their tannic muscle. What's missing at this point is a focus and a sense of texture, though a touch of red currant appears on the finish. Best from 2004 through 2008
