Paul Hobbs Chardonnay, Cuvee Agustina, Richard Dinner Vineyard

Score: (95) (100 possible)

The 2003 Chardonnay Richard Dinner Vineyard, Cuvee Agustina is the estate’s top Chardonnay. It was aged in 88% new oak, and possesses superb fruit and ripeness, medium to full body, and notes of honeysuckle, orange marmalade, pineapple, and mango. Exotic, well delineated, dense, and rich, it should drink well for 2-4 years.

Pale yellow. Aromas of peach, nectarine and honey, with notes of vanillin oak and minerals. Sweet, dense and lush, showing more vanillin oak and soil-driven minerality today than fruit. Finishes firm-edged and persistent. Like the basic bottling from this vineyard, this chardonnay needs some aging.
