Reviews

Wine Spectator
Vol. 1 No.18
6/15/2005
Score: 93 (100 possible)

Layers of ripe, rich black cherry and blackberry fruit, it glides across the palate, revealing uncommon depth and dimension and finishing with an amazing aftertaste. Drink now through 2007.

The 2003 Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard displays a big, sweet bouquet of black cherries, apple skins, and plums along with good underlying acidity, medium to full body, and a heady, spicy finish.

Vol. 120
5/2005
Score: 90 (100 possible)

Full red-ruby. Black cherry, raspberry, minerals, meat and menthol on the nose. Silky on entry, then subtly sweet and juicy, with cherry and mineral flavors. Finishes firmly tannic, subtle and persistent. Very interesting pinot.

2005
Score: 5 (5 possible)

2003 Pinot Noirs can be outstanding, as reflected by those from Dutton-Goldfield, Paul Hobbs, and Sea Smoke, among others.

Rich and fleshy in style, this is an intensely flavored wine (strawberry, watermelon, new oak), with light oakiness, and a very long finish. Fine quality. 899 cases.
